Remembering Wade Furlong
Wade Furlong was one of the few people in this world I ever truly connected with and now he's gone. He was a phenomenal artist and a truly decent human being. I appreciate having known him these past 17 years we were friends and I will miss him more than I can put into words. I wish I could tell him how amazing he is and that this world needs people like him. His obituary (worth reading): https://www.sandhfuneralservice.com/obituary/Wade-Furlong?fbclid=IwAR264M9QHpzqUbezJqL6_unHeWjxCMgxkeerU794p33M8vIWqvilYjI4k0M From the obit: "Wade’s family would like all to be aware that if you or anyone you know is having problems with mental health conditions, professional medical/therapy can greatly help. The National Alliance on Mental Illness organization is one that has been greatly helping their family: http://www.nami.org/Support-Education/Support-Groups." Getting new eyes... Sort of.
Hello! First off, I hope you are all doing well (or at least surviving). This past year has been a real struggle for most people (especially Ukrainians and the many other nations enduring ongoing wars). Which is saying something, seeing as the past 4+ years have royally sucked for humanity at large. But, hopefully, the worst is nearly behind us. I'm sure some of you have noticed my art production has decreased greatly these past few years. There are a few reasons for this but one of the primary issues is my eyesight. Starting in the 2010s, my eyesight has been on the decline. I went legally blind in my right eye a couple years ago and have since almost went blind in my left eye. I can see well enough with my glasses to walk around my home but I can't drive or walk around town (can't see street signs, people, cars, lights, etc.). I'm still able to create artwork but it involves far more time and effort, especially making details. I recently invested in a 43" monitor and still
Merry Christmas and thank you!
Howdy! It's been a long time since I've made a real journal entry (a few years now). I doubt this will find many people but to those who are reading it, I hope you have a pleasant holiday season and to those who celebrate it, Merry Christmas! I didn't paint much this year but I tried to stay active doing pixel art and NFTs. However, recently I've got back into digital painting and I'd like to post work regularly again. Thanks to all of you who have stuck around all these years, leaving comments and interacting with me. I honestly miss that and would like to develop that relationship once again. And I gotta send out a big thank you to Dave [ davincipoppalag ] for gifting me a subscription (a whole year?!). That was truly an awesome surprise! If you're not familiar with davincipoppalag , he is one of the most prolific DA members ever, known for his unflinching kindness and unique personality. I was friends with him before I joined DA and I've known him for about 18 years. Everyone
