I love autumn. The skies tend be greyer, the temperature is a little cooler and the landscape is a little deader.

While it won't officially be autumn for 11 more days, it certainly already feels like it and that's good enough for me. With autumn comes Oktoberfest and Halloween, both of which I try to celebrate each year, in one way or another. One festival gives you an excuse to drink a lot of beer in the streets and the other an excuse to eat a lot of candy. Between the two, Halloween is my favorite to celebrate.

Every Halloween (or during the last week of October), I try to watch one or more of the following films:

- Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948): My favorite Halloween themed comedy.
- Halloween (1978): The music, the mood, the story and the 70's, it's a perfect blend of awesome.
- The Shining (1980): One of my favorite films to watch alone. Also fun to watch around Christmas time.
- The Evil Dead (1981): One of the best horror films ever made (imo).
- Satan's Little Helper (2004): A film so goofy and campy it's hard not to enjoy.

QUESTION: Are there any movies you traditionally watch around Halloween? (you're welcome to list your other favorite Halloween traditions, too)
