Most Disturbing Horror Scenes

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 24, 2012, 8:50 PM
What's the most disturbing horror scene you've ever watched? It can be conceptually or visually disturbing (or both).

Leave a comment and a link if it's available (please do not post videos of real people dying or being killed i.e. no snuff films). Currently, the 'newborn porn' scene in A Serbian Film is the worst scene I've had the "pleasure" to witness.

Which film is the picture below from? First person to answer correctly wins the everything that ever was or will be.

I don't think it's the most disturbing scene NOW. But its a scene that had had the most effect on me. If that makes sense... I was in 6th grade and saw "Scream" for the first time. Anyways... the whole scene with Drew Barrymore ABSOLUTELY terrified me. When the boyfriend's stomach was cut open and then she's running trying to scream for her parents and he stabs her in the throat. She can see her parents... she's so close. But NOPE! Then they open the door and see her dead body gutted, cut up, and hanging from the tree. It was SO MUCH for my tiny little mind to handle. I think something in my head snapped and after that scene I have been completely immune to every horror movie ever made. AND I became obsessed with horror movies. NO movie EVER scares me or freaks me out anymore. I think the ORIGINAL Texas Chainsaw Massacre was SLIGHTLY disturbing. But that's about it. But yeah... I can still remember the sheer terror I felt when I saw that Drew Barrymore scene in Scream... Just BRILLIANT!

from John Carpenter's "The Thing" from 1982. The kennel scene, when the thing first reveals itself. When the dog's muzzle peels to the bone and come off ... well all the scene is quite gross and twisted ;)[link]
It's my favourite movie for a reason!
