Have you ever admired or idolized someone famous (i.e. your idol, hero, mentor, etc.), only to find out they're horrible people? Or that they're complete hypocrites? Or assholes? Or something along those lines, that negatively changed your perception of them forever? If yes, please share via a comment.
Examples of 'someone famous' might be famous painters, writers, musicians, athletes, actors, directors, etc. (no politicians, that's a given and far too easy). They can be either dead or living people (and undead

).
An example of my own:
Francis Bacon - As far as painters go, Bacon is in my top 5 (just for his painting). However, Bacon was a first-rate asshole. He was notoriously rude, outspoken to a fault, an attention whore, very arrogant and he used people on all fronts. I more-or-less expected him to be eccentric and possess some of those qualities (I possess a few of them myself) but he took that bullshit to the next level. Do you have to like an artist to like their art? No but I'd prefer the artists I really like not to be (or have been) complete douchebags.

And when I confronted them they play it off as if nothing happened. And each time I'm like "I effing saw what you wrote about me right there, I am not friggen 4" And god forbid I ever stood up to them in public. (like on a comment on Deviantart where other people can see it.) Then I'd get harassed by all of their watchers. Tch whatever. It's cool though.
